Daniel Trujillo
Tennis Pro

Daniel Trujillo has 15 years of experience developing junior tennis players. Born and raised in Clovis/Fresno, he grew up playing locally here in the Central Valley. Daniel has coached Division 1 high school for 11 years before serving as the assistant and eventually head coach for the Men’s Tennis Team at Fresno City College. Through the years he has taught beginners starting out at the age of 3 to top collegiate athletes. It is his sole priority to teach tennis in a fun and positive manner both on and off the tennis court. Coach Daniel is excited to continue the development of tennis players in the JTA at Fig Garden Swim and Racquet Club.

Laura Ruben
Tennis Pro

Laura grew up in Visalia, California where she fell in love with the sport of tennis at the age of five. She played in many high level junior tournament sectionals, nationally and internationally. Laura moved to Southern California during Junior High and represented both Southern and Northern California sections throughout the rest of her junior career. She was ranked #1 for multiple years in Northern California and top 5 for multiple years in Southern California. She was also ranked top 10 in the nation for multiple years in both singles and doubles. Laura played on both Mater Dei High school (Santa Ana, CA) and Loyola Marymount University (Westchester, CA) tennis teams. Before and after college Laura competed on the professional tennis circuit. Laura has over 10 years teaching experience and is PTR certified. She is currently looking forward to competing in both singles and doubles at the senior level. When she is not on the tennis court she enjoys the piano, golf and boating.

Cynthia Doerner
Director of Mini Figs

Coach Cynthia Doerner is an elite USPTA certified Tennis Pro with many years of coaching experience. She is a former world ranked WTA #15. During her years of playing, she played in over 25 grand slam events, including Wimbledon eight times, The Australian nine time, The French Open five times, and The US Open five times. She is a valued Tennis Pro here at Fig and specializes with our youngest future tennis pros! Contact her for information about 3-Year Old Intro to Tennis, Mini Figs, or private instruction.
